P07
Specific role(s) of the inflammasome in the TME of primary and metastasized sporadic CRC
Research Focus

P07 will specifically examine the contribution of inflammasomes that act as intracellular danger-sensing complex controlling release of pro-inflammatory cytokines belonging to the IL-1 family. Various genetic models targeting specific inflammasome components in different cell types will be explored to determine their exact contribution to the metastatic cascade. Moreover, this project will provide a comprehensive functional analysis of specific triggers and downstream effects of the inflammasome in a cell type specific manner in the TME during metastasis formation.
